Whatsapp recently released a new feature called Whatsapp Status in android and many peoples already don’t like this update because WhatsApp removed status feature from it and added Whatsapp Status feature similar to snapchat stories.
If you don’t like this feature then you can revert back to previous version or you can disable/ remove the whatsapp status feature from your device.So in this step by step guide we will show you how to remove whatsapp status feature and bring back old whatsapp status.
For removing new whatsapp status feature you should have root access on your device.Then only you can disable whatsapp status feature.

Requirements:
1. Rooteded device
2. Any Root File Explorer or SharedPreferences Editor apk
Steps to Remove WhatsApp Status feature
1. Force Stop WhatsApp before proceeding.
a. For Root Explorers, open the file ‘/data/data/com.whatsapp/shared_prefs/com.whatsapp_preferences.xml‘
b. For SharedPreference Editors, select ‘WhatsApp’ and then select ‘com.whatsapp_preferences‘.
2. Find the key name: ‘status_mode‘ and edit its value from ‘1’ and make it as ‘0’.

Note: This is currently working in version 2.17.81. This may or may not work with future WhatsApp updates. It may require you to do these steps again :/
